BORACAY ESCAPADE

Can you imagine just how perfect it would be to spend your Sunday afternoon at a beachfront like this? Oh how relaxing and cozy it would be, for sure. And I’m badly missing this scenery already. Now I’m back to the hustle and bustle of Manila, back to intense heat, back to busy days, back to reality. Sigh. Anyway, I’ll share with you here how me and my boyfriend celebrated our 6th anniversary together in Boracay, Aklan!

It’s our first travel together, so yeah, we’re excited even we were still waiting for our boarding time at the airport. I must admit though that I was not fully satisfied with NAIA Terminal 4. There were very limited food places and no convenient tables and chairs to eat and be relaxed. All you have is the waiting area which I think is just fine. But if you’re bored or you want to eat while killing time, just head across the airport area and there you can find lots of food places to choose from.

It’s also our first plane ride together so we were really excited to document everything! Hahaha! 😀 Our travel time from Manila to Boracay was approximately 45-50 minutes and Air Asia sure gave us a safe and sound voyage.

And right when we landed at Kalibo airport, this was the first thing I’ve done. Hurrah. From Kalibo airport going to Boracay island is not as easy as you maybe think it is. From the airport, we had a 2-hour shuttle ride going to Caticlan port, then from there, roughly 15-minute boat ride to Boracay, and the journey did not stop there, lastly, a 10-minute tricycle ride to Station 3 of Boracay. This actually depends on what station you’ll be staying, Station 1 is the farthest.

Since we arrived around 1 am, 95% of the area we’ve stayed in is already closed. So we had to walk what feels like a thousand miles just to finally see our hungry-tummies savior, Andok’s! Hahaha! 😀 Tell you what, it’s been a while since I have been to a beach or province hence I was a bit shocked but delighted to see a common food place like this because I have rather expected some kind of a native restaurant. Fortunately, Andok’s saved the day! 😀

And we spent our first morning with this lovely view. This picture just doesn’t do justice. But I can still remember the feeling, waking up then having a good breakfast with your favorite person and with this perfect ambiance, you’ll really find yourself speechless.

This is the pool area of the hotel we stayed in, Boracay Sands. People there call this hotel just “Sands”.

And to fully start our day, we had an early morning walk on the beach and discovered that there is a Chatime branch here, yey! Simple happiness for milk-tea lovers like me hehehe. 😀

We also visited the Trick Art Museum and had fun taking some snapshots in there.

This one is not a trick. This is real sexiness. Hahahahahahaha! 😀

This buggy car ride was one of the bests I have ever experienced! Besides having the awesome roadtrip, we also had the chance to see more of what Boracay has.

CAMERA

Inspite enjoying this one, I never really liked stairs most especially loooong one. 🙁 But I could say it was totally worth it because…

CAMERA

…okay Doraemon is adorable but he’s not the main attraction hahaha! 😀

CAMERA

This is what I’m talking about. One of those breathtaking moments.

CAMERA

And walking down the stairs is not a problem of course. 😀

And this is our main event!! Riding a Jet Ski is the best! It gives you a really amazing feeling that makes you want to try again and drive yourself and enjoy the waves of the sea! But then even though how much perfect you think the moment is, somehow, some little terrible things happened. Like not having a good picture and a complete video because your camera battery shuts down already. BIG SIGH. This just proves that there are moments that the camera could not capture, because it’s your heart that would capture them.

A view of the pool area in the evening.

Another glimpse of the interior of the hotel.

The view from outside during sunset! Well it’s not obvious because it was actually gloomy that time.

Of course we did not miss the very famous “d’mall” wherein you could enjoy shopping souvenirs, go food tripping, and just enjoy the night life there. We planned to spend the whole night wandering and doing random things but sadly, rain started pouring early in the evening so everybody was forced to stop outdoor activities and our night life was quite ruined.

We had a great dinner in this diner, Johnny Rockets. Besides the great food, they also have great service and an overall 100% rating from us. I’ll blog about it next time. 😀

We had buffet breakfast in Boracay Sands Hotel and the overall service was great, too. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.

We spent few minutes at the beachfront before finally saying goodbye to this stunning island and its creamy sands.

Having to visit a place like this is so much a blessing and a pleasure. It will make you reflect so much and step back from reality and just appreciate every bit of what you see, and just live every second happily. I’m glad we had our anniversary celebration here in Boracay. Everything is just so worth it. I could not wait until our next visit! 😀

By the way, here’s a 2-minute video to sum up our whole Boracay escapade, enjoy!
(Kindly watch in HD for better viewing. Thanks!)
