20th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta was held at the Clark Freeport Zone Pampanga last February 11-14, 2016, just in time for the celebration of Valentine’s. My friends and I were up in the early morning of February 13, Saturday. As far as I can remember, I think it was around three in the morning when we started driving on our way to join the event. We were all first-timers and excited to spend some quality time outside Manila and explore more of Subic! 🙂
Unfortunately, we arrived late for the event and missed a few early parts and saw these hot air balloons already rising up in the sky while we’re still stuck in traffic jam. I’m a bit shocked though that even we leave Manila very early, we were still late. Guess we didn’t anticipate the traffic caused by the event.
It was a bit overwhelming to see different adorable designs of the hot air balloons and see them one by one fly up in the sky and each disappeared little by little from our sights.
Besides enjoying the view of the hot air balloons in the sky, there were also many other activities like kite flying, skydiving, paragliding, and then there were also exhibitions.
We had a whole day of fun even though being under the heat of the sun for a few hours. It was totally worth it! I personally wanted to experience riding in a hot air balloon but it was pricey for me so I’ll just put it in my bucket list for now and will tick it off hopefully someday.
Here’s a short video from the event. Don’t forget to tap HD. Enjoy watching! 🙂
