One major new thing for me last year was to attend a christening ceremony for the first time and it’s for my goddaughter, Zoe Brielle. It felt awesome to witness one of my best friends, Bern, as she now takes up her life to a whole new amazing level- to have a family of her own.
That moment while I was beside her family, sitting quietly in the pew, I was really struggling to hold back my tears from falling down my cheeks. As I look at her happily carrying her child with her man always on her side, I can’t be any prouder.

I can still vividly remember that hilarious moment when she first showed me her baby bump months ago. We set our usual coffee-and-catch up date and when she finally enters the cafe and sat beside me, I immediately noticed her big tummy. While I was in huge shock and still trying to control myself from freaking out, she was bursting into laughter. And then I started laughing too. And then the laughter suddenly became little tears, and we both hugged each other. My best friend is having her first baby, and for that I’m very happy and excited to be a ninang!

That’s me on her left side – all smiles as I watched baby Zoe being baptized.

Happy family! ♥

How amazing it is to think that we have different priorities and life happenings now. It seems like it was only yesterday that we were still in college stressing over school pressures and other life situations. One second we were those sophomores having nonstop conversations a bit loud while a professor is giving lectures (which prompted her to catch our attention by hitting our desk with a meter stick lol sorry ma’am Calculus!), and then the next we are talking about grown-up stuff. Despite constant change, I know one thing’s for sure, the friendship always remains the same.
