RECALLING: OUR LAST BORACAY VACATION 2015

I’m more than grateful that Jose and I had that impulsive booking of a flight going to Boracay last June 2015. Fine, it was just me and my impulsive self. Well, Air Asia had this ultimate seat sale promo. How can you blame me? :p It was actually to celebrate our 6th anniversary together and was intended to be booked to Palawan but the fare was still a bit pricey even on promo. And so I went for Boracay and excitedly called him that we’re soon flying together for the first time! 12
“Boracay na naman?”, “Di ba kayo nagsasawa?”, “Sa iba naman aba!”, uttered some of our friends when I told them we’re going back again which was scheduled to be on Nov 2015, just in time to celebrate Jose’s birthday.

So yes, our first experience was really full of bliss and unforgettable “firsts” that the moment we hopped on the plane going back to Manila, we started feeling sepanx (separation anxiety). Hence, the booking of our second flight back there.

It’s just that, besides it being our first travel together, the island of Boracay is just so homey for us. Although it’s nowhere near our home here in Cavite, the feeling actually is. Every bit of the island gives off this sense of belongingness and comfort. Well atleast for us. I’m sure others feel the same way too.

So whenever some of our friends or families ask a little help or suggestion as to where to go and have some vacation, we always say Boracay! We seriously had a great time in the island that we also wanted them to visit there and experience moments and prove us right. 6
Unexpectedly, and luckily, we were given a chance to spend a few days and nights there last February this year. That time, it was together with his sis. I posted it previously here.

Albeit the first experience was full of great memories, time was really short. So this time on our second visit, right when we woke up first morning, we immediately showered, packed essential stuff, and off we go! As early as six in the morning, some activities can already be started hence we went trying anything that we could possibly accomplish.

We were greeted by a gloomy weather since it was already cold season that time and Christmas was just around the corner. Good thing about it was sun’s out hence we won’t struggle with the heat. But then water was really cold so we had to bear what felt like an already freezing temperature for us!

For our hotel accommodation, we now opted to a less luxurious and more average but affordable place unlike our first one which was at Boracay Sands Hotel. We figured we wanted to spend more of our budget on foods and activities rather than being unnecessarily deluxe on our hotel stay. And we realized that 80% of our time are spent outdoors so it just really makes sense. But at the same time, we also don’t want to take risk and just settle for poor quality service in exchange for spending less, so I thoroughly browsed info of different affordable places to stay in our station area. I prefer searching with www.booking.com because it has easy access and complete necessary info and reviews you need to know. We decided to stay at Station 2 of the island this time after we observed that night life is more active and present here than the other stations.

We checked in here at Island Inn, a subsidiary of Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel. I must say everything is fine except the distance to the beach is not really very near. But you just have to walk a few meters though.

The look when things are not chaotic… yet. Haha!

Another thing I like about our room is that it has a balcony slash sampayan and it was really useful especially we always get back with wet clothes plus bits of sand all over us. 21

For our complimentary breakfast, we had it every morning here in Don Vito Ristorante Italiano since this is located alongside Boracay Mandarin Hotel which as I’ve said earlier, a subsidiary of Island Inn.

27 One of the main activities we look forward to on this second time around was riding a jet ski! Compared to our first experience, we can now control better, move and drive better, and really have more confidence and fun. Plus, we now successfully recorded a video of us while riding it unlike last time where the battery went dead and did not capture any good shot of the adventure. 28

34 In the afternoon while walking our way towards the famous Jonah’s Fruitshake, Willy’s Rock captured our attention and we were pretty amazed by its beauty. 35

Enjoying a hot afternoon with our cold fruitshakes! 37
We were told that the place is always crowded so apparently we were lucky to score an empty table and have the time to sit and relax and indulge in the very palatable shakes.

39 So many flavours to choose from! 😀 We’d tried one of their best sellers, Banana-Choco combi, and it tastes really good! I also had the Mango Milk and Melon Milk last time. I’ve always wanted to try their Avocado ones but they’re always unavailable. Sigh. 40

We were set to have some food trip this night so we started it off with a small meal. Just enough to keep us energized, but not so full.

First love never dies! We came back to dine at Johnny Rockets again and still, their Vanilla milkshake is the bomb!

And to cap the night off, we found this super chill place “Sensi” which attracted us because of its pretty lights wrapped around the trees and the good music playing in the background and the most magical and fluffy chair to sit on while chilling out by the beach at night – bean bag!!! I could sit here forever! 😀

Okay, time for first-timers to try some alcohol now haha! Boracay has a special place in our hearts so I decided here is where I’ll take my first ever drinks. After 23 years of my existence in this word, I’m finally taking a sip of this and end my curiousness. As I’ve read the menu, there’s not a single word that I’m really familiar with so I just seriously guessed what could be “okay” for me and I had this Mojito. Hahaha!

I had a really great time that night. Having good conversation with Jose, my boyfriend, both of us sitting on a red fluffy bean bag, having drinks, (he had mango shake tho hehe), and a relaxing view overlooking the beach, hearing the sound of waves, and feeling the cold creamy sands of Boracay between our toes.

And just when I thought my beloved curiousness was over, I found myself picking up the menu again and lo and behold – a margarita in my hand! Told you, great night. More like, blurred night. Hahaha! 😀

Yep, hot chocolate for the mister. I felt a bit embarassed though to be just the one who’s drinking. Twice. Alone. lol But hell, I wanted to make my first time awesome and memorable! :-p

Indeed, we came back to Boracay with more fun, greater memories, and better adventures. Can’t wait to come back again this year, this time with some of our friends. We already booked it November last year. So excited!

Here is a short video compilation of our whole November 2015 Boracay escapade. Kindly watch it in HD for better viewing. Thanks and enjoy! 🙂
